Nikki’s Story

*“For years, I believed I couldn’t get stronger. I had major surgery on my leg and hip as a child, and the effects carried on for decades—back pain, movement restrictions, and doctors telling me not to do certain things.

That belief stuck with me: I can’t do this. It won’t work for me.

Then I joined MEE-FIT. And within the first week, every single one of those negative thoughts was proven wrong.

Now, 12 weeks in, I feel stronger than ever. I love the variety, the challenge, and the support from the coaches and members. It’s not just about getting fitter—it’s about pushing myself in ways I never thought possible.

The biggest surprise? I love training. People ask me, ‘Do you enjoy it?’ and I can’t stop saying yes. Walking into MEE-FIT feels like walking into a place where I belong. I’m surrounded by people like me, all working towards their own goals, all supporting each other.

At my age, it’s easy to stop challenging yourself. But this journey has been invigorating. It’s given me confidence, excitement, and a whole new perspective on what I can achieve.

To anyone overthinking it, I’ll say this: Just do it. I used to be a psychotherapist, and I’d always tell people—challenge your comfort zone. If you keep waiting, keep doubting, you’ll talk yourself out of anything.
